Larry McCrorey Jazz Fund
The Larry McCrorey Jazz Fund is earmarked for youth musicians in the Champlain Islands.
Island Arts has long been committed to supporting jazz and young aspiring jazz players. The Larry McCrorey Jazz Fund is earmarked for youth jazz musicians or jazz ensembles studying or performing in Grand Isle County.
Island Arts has brought jazz to the Islands for years, starting with the late Charlie Biddle who performed the fiddle (as he called it) in Montreal at “Biddle’s”. Biddle’s concerts at Knight Point State Park in North Hero attracted more than 500 people.
The late Larry McCrorey, a director of Island Arts, again brought superb jazz to the Islands. A jazz musician and educator, the fund that bears his name is witness to his talents. Today, Tony Pietricola, Island Arts’ vice president and another talented jazz musician and educator, is the torch-bearer of Island Arts commitment to jazz. We thank our donors for their support of these efforts.
